“Oxfam Australia is part of a global movement of dedicated people working hard to fight poverty and injustice” (Oxfam Australia, 2009).Currently Oxfam Australia is campaigning for Indigenous (Australian Aboriginal) rights.Your task is to help them raise awareness of Indigenous issues by creating a 3 – 5 minute audiovisual presentation on the Stolen Generations. Your presentation should be targeted to the general public. It should be designed to create interest and stimulate a response. Your presentation is to include the following:
Relevant aspects found in Kevin Rudds’ apology speech.
Evaluation of key government policies that resulted in the Stolen Generations.
The effects of these policies on Indigenous Australians, and their story.
Why reconciliation is important for Australia and its people.
What is being done and should be done to ‘close the gap’.
What can or should we do?
The webquest is divided into 4 sections.Each section will help you complete your task.

Organisation
You will be working in groups of 3 (refer to the class group list as provided by the teacher).
You will need to choose a format/program for your task e.g. PowerPoint, PhotoStory, Movie Maker etc.
For each session you will need to decide on your roles in the group.These are to include chairperson or leader, recorder, and questioner or instigator.Every new session you will need to change roles.
To assist you in your planning and gathering information you will need to create and maintain a concept map.
During the course of this unit you will need to maintain a E-Journal as located in the Myclasses site under ‘Stolen Generations’.
